But regardless of what emerges, depending on who’s being asked, Samsung’s successor to the Samsung Galaxy S5 needs to be a hit.
The latest rumors suggest the Galaxy S6 will buck the trend of an all-metal unibody design in favor of a combination of glass and metal, with the rear of the smart phone sporting glass material. The rumor comes from DDaily, a Korean-language website, with the rumor also referenced at Android Authority and BGR.
The design of the Galaxy S6 is one of the most anticipated elements of the upcoming device. Samsung was widely criticized when the Galaxy S5 debuted for lacking the style and premium feel some had expected from a flagship smart phone. Fans and critics are hoping the Samsung puts more emphasis into the design of the Galaxy S6 compared to its predecessors.
The screen size of the Galaxy S6 is not expected to deviate too far from the Galaxy S5, which currently has a 5.1-inch Super Amoled display, but according information in an article at Know Your Mobile, the screen could be larger. If true, the screen size would leave less space between the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 4 screens. Rumors also indicate there is a chance the Galaxy S6 will debut with a 2K resolution, not a 4K screen resolution, according to code published on Dutch website Tech Tastic, also referenced by Gizmodo UK.
Predictions about the Samsung Galaxy S6’s internal specs vary greatly, but experts say the device is likely to debut with more processing power than its predecessor, as well as Android 5.0 Lollipop.
