A toddler in Florida recently passed away after an accidental shooting. 2-and-a-half-year-old Kaleb Ahles shot himself in the chest while he was in the family vehicle.

Tragedy has struck a Florida family. Two-and-a-half year old Kaleb Ahles accidentally shot himself in the chest while in his family's car.

According to a police official, the child's father placed Kaleb in the car, while he and other family members helped take belongings out of the house. They were in the process of moving to a new residence.

Witnesses say Kaleb was alone in the car while his parents moved the items. The child managed to open the glove box, where a .380-caliber gun was kept, picked it up and pulled the trigger.

Pinellas Sheriff Bob Gualtieri stated " It’s just one of those things that happens where everything lines up the wrong way. You had a 2 1/2 year old who was able to take a gun, pick it up, turn it around and he shot himself dead center in the middle of the chest.”
