KUMHO YOUNG ARTIST
"KUMHO YOUNG ARTIST" is the competition held by the Kumho Museum of Art to discover and support new young, talented artists. This year, 4 artists, including Kwak Eve, Baek Seung-hyun, Jang Jong-wan and Hwang Ji-yoon, are showcasing their creative and experimental pieces that increase the public's awareness of various social issues. Kwak Eve sheds new light on cities, Baek Seung-hyun expresses his unique philosophy on the relationship between individuals and society, Jang Jong-wan articulates people's internal anxiousness in a metaphorical way and Hwang Ji-yoon reinterprets landscape paintings with her artistry. All these four young, artists are armed with distinct characteristics and courageous spirits, proving that Korean art has a very bright future ahead of it.

ERATO Ensemble
The chamber orchestra Erato Ensemble held a concert at the Seoul Arts Center with world-renowned violinists Gao Can and Ham Ji-min and cellist Lee Myung-jin. Launched in 2011 by violinist Yang Sung-sic, the ensemble has become the country's leading chamber ensemble. This concert was comprised of Vivaldi: Concerto for 2 Violins in D minor, Bach: Concerto for 2 Violins in D minor, and Tchaikovsky: Serenade for String Orchestra in C major, Op. 48. Various historical eras, including the Baroque and Romanticism, were revived at the concert through its representative pieces written by celebrated composers, once again, reminding everyone of the greatness of classical music.
