Mexico, Jan 20 (EFE), (Camera: Gustavo Borges).- Former Real Madrid player Emilio Butragueño said during a short visit to Mexico that the country's footballers were "absolutely reliable" and that they were well prepared to face any rival anywhere.
"Nowadays Mexican players are absolutely reliable players, who can play for any club against any rival and play at a very high level," the Spaniard said in Mexico City.
Butragueño, who was selected to play for Spain's national team in the world cups of Mexico (1986) and Italy (1990), is considered one of the legends of Real Madrid and is the current director of the club's institutional relations.
When asked about his time at Mexican team Celaya (1995-1998), El Buitre (The Vulture) said the level of the players was already quite high.
