The Palike has identified 16 lakh properties in the City of which two lakh properties are out of tax net. Instructions have been given to collect taxes from the remaining two lakh properties, he said.
Relook on tax zones
The chief minister said, “In order to increase the property tax revenue, the tax zones will be reclassified. Presently there are six tax zones of A, B, C, D, E and F.”
Conceding that there is shortage of manpower in the Palike, he said that additional staff will be provided to achieve the target. He directed the Palike officials to collect property taxes from the properties having B-khata.
