In order to promote its latest iPhone protective cases, Urban Armor Gear decided to drop an iPhone 6 from space, and filmed the entire experience.

In order to promote its newest protective cell phone cases, Urban Armor Gear wanted to see what happened when an iPhone 6 was dropped from space.
The company outfitted the phone with one of its cases, and secured it to a flight rig featuring a large balloon. The flight rig also carried two GoPro cameras, GPS and a second phone for backup.
The balloon was released in the English countryside. As it ascended, the phone experienced temperatures as low as -79 degrees Fahrenheit, which caused it to quickly freeze and completely lose its charge.
After surpassing a little more than 100,000 feet, the balloon popped, causing the iPhone to plummet back to Earth.
