A teenager recently needed to be rescued after becoming stuck in mud in Washington state’s Puyallup creek on Monday. Just prior to landing in the predicament, the 16-year-old boy and a friend had been at a skateboard park when they ventured off and headed towards the Puyallup River.

The boys were standing on the banks of an exceptionally boggy stream. As they were walking away, the 16-year-old became trapped in the thick mud and despite his efforts, he wasn’t able to pull his body out.

The other boy attempted to help but after hours of trying, he still couldn't free his friend. The mud reportedly reached the boy’s thighs, which made it nearly impossible for him to move.

When his companion realized they weren’t making progress, he walked to a local fire station and informed crews of the incident and the fact that his friend was stuck.
