A police operation was underway in Dammartin-en-Goele, northeast of Paris, on Friday, January 9, after suspects involved in the Charlie Hebdo shooting took hostages and fired shots at police. France’s interior minister confirmed that the operation was to “neutralize the perpetrators of the cowardly attack” on Charlie Hebdo.
