The house that was featured in the film ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ is in the news after flames broke out there. During the evening hours of Monday, someone set fire to the doormat of the residence.

After the blaze was extinguished by the homeowner, both the garage and front door had burn marks. Officers from the San Francisco police department were sent to the residence following the fire and determined that an accelerant, possibly gasoline, was used.

Cops stayed there for roughly three hours to examine the scene and speak to the man who owns the property. He’s a doctor who specializes in feminization procedures.

He told police he’s been having some issues with a previous client and investigators believe that individual may be responsible for starting the fire.

Despite that promising lead, detectives have not yet named the suspect or made an arrest in the case. This is the second time the home has made headlines in recent months.

Late last summer, grief-stricken fans gathered around the residence to leave flowers and cards for 'Mrs. Doubtfire’ star Robin Williams, who committed suicide in August.
