Monaco prepares to greet Royal babies in the flesh

Preparations were underway in Monaco on Tuesday January 6th, as Prince Albert II and his wife Princess Charlene get ready to introduce their baby twins to the public.

Jacques and Gabriella will be officially presented from the balcony of the royal palace on Wednesday January 7th - the first of many public appearances for the four week-olds.

All being well, baby Jacques will himself become ruler of the tiny principality and head up one of Europe's oldest dynasties.

Caroline Mangez of the French magazine Paris Match said that the birth of the twins puts an end to public concerns about the lack of an heir.
