The nominations for the Producers Guild Awards have been announced and "Birdman" was among the 10 films listed for their top honor. The film, which stars Michael Keaton as a former Hollywood star trying to revive his career on the stage, has been a frontrunner in the awards season race. Among the other films listed were Richard Linklater's "Boyhood" and Angelina Jolie's World War II survivor story, "Unbroken." The Producers Guild hands out its awards on January 24.

The National Society of Film Critics has awarded its best picture prize to Jean-Luc Godard's "Goodbye to Language." The move was a surprise to some, seeing as how the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and the New York Film Critics Circle both awarded their top prize to "Boyhood." "Goodbye to Language," which even admirers called baffling, involves a married woman, a single man, and a stray dog.
