Key Questions to Ask Yourself or the person who takes care of your backup:
- Are we still backing up to tape?
- If a server failed, how long would it take to have it operating like it was before the crash?
- What’s our real cost of downtime?
- How much does it cost to pay employees who can’t work?
- What would it cost to lose one or more customers because we couldn’t meet their needs in a timely manner?
- Are we subject to regulatory compliance for the way we store our patient or customer data? How much are the fines for violating the regulations?
- When is the last time our backup was really tested?
