Headache for international travelers in Munich, after Germany's second biggest airport is hit with a heavy round of snow.
Crews are working around the clock to try to de-ice planes so they can take off in the winter weather.
(SOUNDBITE) (German) MANAGER OF DE-ICING SERVICE AT AIRPORT MUNICH, EDGAR LINDNER, SAYING:
"The de-icing procedure is determined worldwide in the so-called 'Clean Aircraft Concept'. That means that a plane can only take off if it is completely de-iced, meaning free of any snow and ice and prevented from any new ice forming. And this is a worldwide law for airlines, for pilots and for us as well."
The airport says at least 45 flights have been canceled.
