Dustin Diamond, who is best known for his acting role in comedy series, ‘Saved by the Bell’ was recently arrested in Wisconsin’s Ozaukee County.
Diamond was booked on charges including ‘carrying a concealed weapon’ and ‘first-degree recklessly endangering safety’. According to police, the 37-year-old actor was carrying a switchblade.
The knives contain a blade that typically opens by either pushing a button or activating a spring for rapid release. Wisconsin state law prohibits the possession of such weapons.
Reportedly, Diamond and his girlfriend were out at a bar just prior to the arrest. They had gotten into a disagreement with another couple who was taking their pictures without permission.
After a confrontation, the argument escalated and the police were called to the scene. Diamond allegedly brandished the knife during the fight and stabbed a man, who suffered from non-life threatening injuries.
Diamond played the comical geek, Screech Powers on ‘Saved by the Bell’ which first aired on NBC in the late 1980s and ended in 1993. He returned on the follow-up series ‘Saved by the Bell: The New Class’ for 6 years before giving reality TV a shot.
