Peruvians fight in traditional Christmas ritual

No boxing gloves here -- and it's not just the men throwing punches during Peru's annual Christmas fighting ritual.

The ritual, better known as Takanakuy, meaning mutual fighting, is celebrated in Cusco and is said to resolve conflicts and mend relationships.

The fights range from broken hearts, stolen lovers, and cold hard cash that hasn't been paid.

Community members take matters in their own hands -- or fists, rather -- and referees keep it from getting too bloody.

Judges are on hand to choose a winner.

This sort of community justice lets residents start the new year with a clean slate.
