Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Friday has issued directives for implementation of the National Action Plan not weeks but within days after he announced the formation of a committee to review the implementation process.
The committee formed includes, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervez Rashid, National Security Advisor (NSA) Sartaj Aziz and Minister of Planning, National Reforms and Development Ahsan Iqbal while the committee would be headed by the PM himself.
While addressing the meeting, PM said that he had decided to review the implementation process in all the provinces. He said that he would be briefed by the provincial governments on the progress regarding the implementation of the National plan of action and that the implementation of the anti-terrorism plan would be ensured.
Treasure Ministry and the state bank of Pakistan would supervise the process of cutting down the supply of funds to terrorists. The Pakistan Army and the people of the country are determined to eliminate terrorism from the country, he added. The PM also said that he would like the implementation done within days and not weeks.
Terrorists would not be spared at any cost, he said. The consensus of the political leadership over rooting out terrorism would play a vital role in the cause. Any type of torture would be considered same as terrorism, he added.
Pakistan would not survive if terrorism is not eliminated, the PM said.
Moreover, the PM has called another meeting on December 27 to discuss the implementation on the decisions taken in today s meeting.
