Rows of blue roses at vigil for slain NYPD officers

On Christmas night in Brooklyn... rows of blue roses at this vigil to honor two slain NYPD officers.

One by one, the family and relatives of Officer Rafael Ramos thanked his fellow men in blue .... as they watch over this make shift memorial honoring Ramos and Officer Weinjan Liu.

Both men were ambushed and murdered in their patrol car by a gunman who police say was bent on killing cops and later took his own life.

Ramos family friend Juan Rodriguez led a round of applause for the officers .... (nats clapping)

SOUNDBITE: Juan Rodriguez, Family Friend, SAYING:

"So they can have closure and say thank you to the people in the city of NY, but also say thank you to the police department."

Korean native Christene Kim Sang never knew the two officers .... but came to the memorial to sign hymns on her eukalale.

And others, too, who never knew the two men, paid their respects with a show of blue ribbons leading to Tabernacle Church.
