Russians won't have to dream of a White Christmas this year.
Across the country, they awoke Christmas Day to a heavy snowfall -- the first major one of the year.
In Moscow, it's the first heavy snow of the year -- unusual for a place that gets cold in October
While the snow made driving tough, many appreciated the festive atmosphere.

And after a tough 2014, New Year weather is just what many Russians are ready for.
