THUNDER BAY – The message was a simple and touchingly human one. The James Street Bridge needs to be open to vehicle traffic. Today a group of carollers gathered at the James Street Bridge to sing Christmas carols, share some holiday spirit, and wish CN Rail a very Merry Christmas.
Event organizer Tony McGuire said, “This is not about politics, it is all about putting a human face on the issue of the bridge being closed”.
McGuire shared that he has friends on the Fort William First Nation who have been seriously impacted by the bridge closure.
The message today was more joyful than a protest, the singers simply want to share a message with CN, and with Canadians that they need the bridge open.
