Gabon: Libreville bids to calm tensions

The authorities in Gabon are trying to subdue simmering tensions in Libreville, after at least one person was killed during weekend protests against the rule of President Ali Bongo Ondimba.


Also, resistance to new anti-terror laws in Kenya continues to grow. Activists say they distrust the State's burgeoning powers - even as dozens of militant separatists are hauled before a Mombassa court.
