Life in the Sri Lankan village of Seenigama looks relatively unremarkable these days.

Budding cricket stars brush up on their skills at the local sports centre.

At the Foundation of Goodness charity classes are in full swing.

The village has come a long way in the 10 years since the tourist district of Galle in which it lies was hit by the Indian Ocean tsunami.

More then 40, 000 people lost their lives in Sri Lanka alone.

Tens of thousands of homes, schools and businesses were destroyed.

Foundation of Goodness founder Kushil Gunesekara says the village is back on its feet.

"We were fortunate because we had the Foundation of Goodness up and running at the time so we were able to harness the wave of compassion to overpower the waves of destruction and rebuild better."
