Follow the music, admire the art, place yourself inside historic architecture, in Telesur's "Cultura Latina". In this week's program, hosted Mauricio Izquierdo, first takes us to Washington, DC, where since 1997 the Smithsonian Latino Center has been promoting Latino art on its own premises and in museums, research centers and other affiliates throughout the US. To date, it has hosted 400 exhibitions and provided US$20 million in educational grants. Then its off to La Paz Bolivia, for a visit to the Coca Museum, where its co-founder and director Sdenka Silva, explains how its purpose is to demystify coca, illustrate its role in Bolivian culture and identity, and promote its numerous medicinal benefits and byproducts. teleSUR
