Multiple pedestrians were injured and three individuals were killed on Wednesday after a hit-and-run accident in California.

The incident occurred in Redondo Beach, outside the St. James Catholic Church. At the time, many people were walking out of the building following a children’s Christmas concert.

According to eye witness accounts, a white sedan driven by a female barreled through a red light at a nearby intersection hitting the pedestrians in the crosswalk.

The woman continued driving even after that and struck a second vehicle in a head-on collision. A third auto was also damaged in the incident, as one of the pedestrians was sent flying into the air and hit the windshield of that SUV.

The suspect in the white car has since been identified as 56-year-old Margo Bronstein. She was taken to the hospital prior to arriving at Redondo Beach Police Department jail.

She has been arrested on “suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and suspected felony DUI” and is now being held on $300,000 bond.

Two of the deceased victims were in the 80s while the third was in her 30s.
