Several passengers and crew members onboard an American Airlines flight were injured Tuesday following severe turbulence. The plane departed from Seoul, South Korea and had been en route to Dallas-Fort Worth when it was diverted to Japan due to the injuries sustained during the flight.

The Boeing 777 was carrying a crew of 15 and 240 passengers when the incident occurred on Tuesday. Dallas attorney Marc Stanley was one of the passengers who filmed the incident.

He noted the turbulence went on for about an hour.

The Washington Post referenced another video from that flight by YouTube user 'john'.

According to the Weather Channel, a developing large storm in Japan that lead to strong jet streaks may have been a contributing factor.

The plane safely landed in Japan and medical personnel immediately examined 14 people.

Four passengers and one crew member were later transported to hospitals for further assessment and treatment.

An American Airlines spokeswoman said that none of the injuries are life-threatening.
