ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan called off its sit-in in the wake of Tuesday’s Taliban attack at Army Public School in Peshawar, which left 148 people dead.

Addressing his supporters at D-Chowk on Wednesday, Khan said that “we will have to end the dharna due to the present security situation in Pakistan.”

“We hope that Prime Minister Sharif will form a judicial commission to investigate the last elections.” “

“If rigging was not done, we will accept your government, but if rigging was established, you will have to call a fresh election.”

The PTI chief pledged that he would not desist from his demand to get justice. “We will come on streets again if justice was not delivered.”

“Pakistan needs unity in the wake of tragic incident in Peshawar and we have decided not to do opposition now.”

“I went to Peshawar when I came to know that a school was attacked in Peshawar,” he said. “I have never such a thing in my life that a school was attacked under a plan.”

“When Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif invited me to a roundtable conference. I first thought I should not go considering our people were sent to jails, beaten, tortured in detention during all these four months.”

“I then thought what the collective demand of my country is. I, therefore, attended the all-party conference (APC),” Khan said. PTI has extended its full support to Nawaz Sharif government.

“I told Nawaz Sharif that we are ready to extend every support to the government.” “Our member will also join the committee formed by the government to chalk out a plan of action to tackle terrorism. We will also contribute in the committee.”

“I want to remind all Pakistanis why we lived here for four months and one week. We tried our best to get justice regarding rigging in the last year’s general elections.”

PTI went from pillar to post to get justice regarding rigging, he said, adding that our objective was to ensure accountability of the last elections.
