Jeb Bush is making it Facebook official and he's tweeting about it too.
On Tuesday, the former Florida governor says he will "actively explore" a potential presidential campaign for 2016.
The announcement makes Bush one of the first major Republicans to formally move toward a presidential bid.
In his message on Facebook, Bush, whose father and brother both occupied the Oval Office, said he discussed the possibility of a presidential run with his family during the Thanksgiving holiday.
"As a result of these conversations and thoughtful consideration of the kind of strong leadership I think America needs, I have decided to actively explore the possibility of running for President of the United States."
Bush has frequently been mentioned as a possible contender for the White House.
