Several people are dead and many injured at this French-run cultural center in Kabul... after a suicide bomber stages an attack.
An Afghan ministry official says the suspect was about 17 years old.
He detonated his explosive jacket inside a packed auditorium during the performance of a new play condemning, of all things, suicide attacks.
(SOUNDBITE) (Dari) NASIR SARMAST, HEAD OF AFGHANISTAN NATIONAL MUSIC INSTITUTE AND VICTIM OF BLAST, SAYING:
"I was inside the auditorium when suddenly I heard a sound. I fell down on the ground, I thought that was part of the drama show, but when I tried to get up from the ground I saw blood was coming from my head. Then I lost consciousness and don't know what happened next."
Kabul's police chief says the venue was heavily guarded and that the bomber may have kept the explosives inside his underwear.
The attack comes just hours after another suicide bomb left six Afghan soldiers dead on the outskirts of Kabul.
