Ken Weatherwax, the actor who appeared on ‘The Addams Family’ TV series as a child, has passed away at the age of 59.

Ken Weatherwax, the actor who appeared on ‘The Addams Family’ TV series as a child, has passed away at the age of 59.

Reportedly, he died of a heart attack on Sunday inside his residence in Southern California. Weatherwax portrayed the original Pugsley Addams on the show which aired in 1964 and ran for two seasons.

His character often stood out on the program, as Pugsley was always donning shorts and a striped shirt. Back in 2007, he talked about his portrayal of Pugsley during an interview and admitted he was teased at school and said the character typecast him.

Despite all of that, Weatherwax still spoke fondly about ‘The Addams Family’. In addition to the TV program, Weatherwax also appeared in a number of commercials as a child.

He later went on to serve in the Army and continued his career in show business, only he worked behind the camera as an adult. Reportedly, Weatherwax was formerly employed as a grip for Universal Studios, but due to medical reasons he retired.

He is survived by his nephew, niece and brother.
