MH17 debris heads to Netherlands

2014-12-08 20

Wreckage from Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 downed over Ukraine passes through Germany aboard a convoy of trucks.

The pieces are being taken to the Netherlands for investigators to study in detail.

Much of the wreckage has yet to be recovered from the war zone where the plane crashed.

A ground-to-air missile fired from territory held by pro-Russian rebels is considered the most likely culprit.

All 298 passengers and crew were killed when the plane came down in July.

The Netherlands, whose nationals make up the majority of the victims, has launched the largest criminal investigation in its history.
