Taylor Swift was among the early Grammy nominees in the top categories announced by the Recording Academy on Friday (December 05). The country-turned pop star picked up nods for Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "Shake It Off." Also leading early nominations was Sam Smith, who earned five nods, including Best New Artist and Record of the Year for his song "Stay with Me."
Rounding out the rest of the Record of the Year nominees are Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX's "Fancy," Sia's "Chandelier," and Meghan Trainor's catchy summer anthem "All About That Bass."
The nominees for the top Grammy prize - Album of the Year - will be revealed during a Grammy Christmas telecast on Friday night.
