New coats available to men and women feature solar panels on their backs used to charge a battery which, in turn, can be used to supply power to cell phones and other devices.

It's always an inconvenience when your cell phone's battery dies, especially if you forgot a charger. Now a jacket is available that can power-up your phone.

Tommy Hilfiger teamed up with solar manufacturer Pvilion to create jackets outfitted with solar panels allowing the wearer to charge their electronics.

Two jackets were designed, one for men and one for women. They feature plaid designs, and water-resistant solar panels on their backs.

For those who don't like the look of the panels, they're fully removable.

Within the outerwear, a cable connects the panels to a battery pack with a double USB port, enabling the charging of up to two devices at once.

When full, the battery can charge a phone or tablet up to four times.Unfortunately, Hilfiger hasn't said how long it takes the solar panels to fuel the battery.

It is possible to remove the battery from the coat to charge it via another source as well.

The limited edition coat costs $599 each, and 50 percent of profits will benefit the Fresh Air Fund.
