The Canadian airline WestJet has once again done some surprise holiday gifting, and this year the overjoyed recipients were people in the Dominican Republic.

Resident of a village there were given items pulled directly from their wish lists.

How did the airline know what they wanted?

They just asked.

Before the presents were purchased, WestJet sent a big blue sleigh to the center of town and on it was a video screen equipped with a direct line to Santa.

He asked everyone what they wished for and then shared the information with his WestJet elves, who hit the stores and bought the goods.

The airline also put together a party so the presents could be handed out.

It was held on the beach, which workers had transformed into a bit of a winter wonderland.

Among the blankets of snow and decorations were the items people had mentioned, one of which was a vehicle engine.

That was for a man who said that what he really wanted was to get his motorbike cab up and running again so he could continue to support his family.

WestJet picked the Dominican Republic as for the past two years they’ve been working with a charitable organization stationed there.
