A man in Minnesota, who heroically battled cancer has passed away. Aaron Purmort’s obituary was published in the ‘Minneapolis Star Tribune’ and it’s bringing smiles to those who knew him and loved him the most.
The obituary notes that he died from ‘complications from a radioactive spider bite’ that led to years of crime fighting. It also states that Purmort battled the criminal called cancer.
The obituary goes on to say “Civilians will recognize him best as Spider-Man, and thank him for his many years of service protecting our city.”
Purmort is survived by his wife, Nora McInerny, who is referred to as Gwen Stefani in the obituary and his young son. McInerny had been right by his side while he courageously fought the disease.
The couple had first discussed marriage after Purmort suffered two seizures at work and doctors learned he had a brain tumor. While lying in a hospital bed, the two decided that they would battle Purmort’s cancer together, as a married couple.
During the beginning stages, the two were hopeful the cancer could be beat, but the disease came back full swing and it became clear Purmort was going to lose the fight.
Through it all, McInerny documented their life and struggles on social media and on her blog, myhusbandstumor.com.
