As previously announced, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) released General Ruben Dario Alzate and two others, captured two weeks ago in rebel-held territory. Following Alzate's release, the FARC reiterated its call for a bilateral cease-fire, rejected once again by President Juan Manual Santos. However, Santos did, however, re-convene peace talks, suspended after Alzate's capture. teleSUR
