You probably wouldn’t expect to find a bag loaded with money in a fast food restaurant. Nevertheless, that’s exactly where one was recently discovered; inside a Burger King in San Jose, California.
The assistant manager of the business witnessed the blue abandoned backpack and waited for the owner to come back looking for it. Strangely, nobody did so she took it to the back and alerted the franchise owner, Altaf Chaus, who opened it up, saw the cash and called police.
When speaking to reporters, Chaus explained “I worked two jobs and worked very hard to earn the money and save and buy the Burger King. So I know the value of the money.”
One of the officers was shocked at not only the large amount of money, but by the restaurant owner’s honestly. When police inspected the backpack, they a found marijuana, a list of phone numbers, emails, candy, cigarettes and a bank withdrawal slip.
The restaurant was very busy around the time the bag was left behind and staffers didn’t notice who was carrying it. Police are working with bank officials to locate the individual who left the money behind.
