Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos announced yesterday that his government had come to an agreement with rebels to release General Rubén Darío Alzate and his soldier companions on Saturday. However, a later press release by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) said that his release will be Sunday. All are tense about the situation and the government says the FARC has no reason to keep the General until Sunday. The FARC says the delay is due to the government's continued military operations in Choco where General Alzate is being held. teleSUR
