Up until now, South American cup matches have only been available to viewers through pay TV. The Argentine government considers the upcoming derby as being of interest to the general public and therefore it will be broadcast live, in full HD, and free of charge over national television. The country's 2010 Audiovisual Media Law defines communications as a human right, and this is being reaffirmed by offering free access to cultural and sports events considered to be of public interest.
