It's the piano used to play the signature song from "Casablanca".

And one bidder decided to play 'As Time Goes By' to the tune of $3.4 million at a sale at Bonhams auction house in New York on Monday, November 24.

The upright piano was featured in the 1942 hit starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman.

It's one of two models used by singer Dooley Wilson, and the instrument also doubled as a hiding place for illegal transit papers by Bogart's character, Rick.

Another piece of Hollywood history which fetched a high price was the Cowardly Lion costume worn in "The Wizard of Oz".

The suit, including a sculpted likeness of actor Bert Lahr's face, went under the hammer for nearly $3.1 million.

Buyers at the Bonhams and Turner Classic Movies auction snapped up screenplays, posters and dresses as well.
