A manhunt is underway in New York City to find a suspect who is allegedly involved in the stabbing and robbery of a livery cab driver. The incident occurred on Saturday morning in Brooklyn.
The man climbed into the backseat of the cab and after a few moments, he brandished a knife. The suspect demanded money from the driver, but the victim refused to hand over any cash.
As a response, the robber stabbed the 47-year-old man a number of times, which in turn caused the driver to lose control of the cab and plow into a fence.
Before fleeing the vehicle, the suspect was able to swipe the victim’s iPhone and an undisclosed amount of money. He climbed out of the cab and fled the scene on foot.
The driver was soon transported to the hospital where he received treatment for injuries sustained during the scuffle. The weapon has not been recovered.
Police are hoping the surveillance footage from the crime will generate tips that will lead them to the assailant.
