Twisted: Scripture Misused 4 - Romans 10:9 Twisted

2014-11-25 10

It's the last week of our Twisted Scripture series.. We have looked at some scriptures that have been twisted to mean something other than what the original author intended. In order to correctly handle the Word of Truth we must understand the intention of the author.

As we look at Romans 10:9 it seems to be very clear... Believe and confess = salvation. Is this really what Paul is saying? Is the church world today capturing the original intent of the passage? As Paul wrote these words was he thinking about believing that God exists and repeating a "sinner's prayer?" Or was Paul thinking something else?

We take some time to remember what God has wanted for us from the beginning as we ask "Contract or Covenant?". This overarching message of the Bible connects with and reveals the original intent of Romans 10:9.
