A series of anti-narcotics task-force operations in Venezuela resulted in the government's seizure of nearly 30 tons of illicit drugs so far in 2014. Over one thousand people have been arrested in connection with the narcotics operations. It was all done without the help of the United States' Drug Enforcement Agency which Venezuela expelled in 2005 because of subversive activities against the Venezuelan government. teleSUR
