The St. Louis area braced for another day of protests on Tuesday (November 25) after a grand jury cleared white police officer, Darren Wilson, in the fatal August shooting of unarmed black teenager, Michael Brown, sparking a night of violent and racially charged rioting.

Gunshots pierced the air as an angry crowd threw bottles outside the Ferguson Police Department in suburban St. Louis.

The police lobbed tear gas in response as a few hundred protesters took to the streets, with some setting fire to a police cruiser and another car and some buildings.

About a dozen buildings in Ferguson burned overnight and police fired tear gas and flash-bang canisters at protesters, said St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar. Sixty-one people were arrested, police said.
