A woodworker in New Hampshire has quite a story to tell after encountering an out-of-control groundhog. The creature had visited Gary McGrath's property for about a year before something happened.
Seemingly from out of nowhere the groundhog turned on him. On Tuesday, it charged towards Gary.
The entire time, its teeth were bared, indicating the groundhog wasn’t messing around.
The woodchuck got close to Gary’s foot, allowing him to nudge it with his toe and push it away. Regardless, the determined groundhog wasn’t backing down.
The creature barreled towards him yet again and that time, Gary gave him a harder kick. Gary went into his garage and closed the door, but the woodchuck still managed to sneak inside using another entry.
Gary was able to enter his house and still, the creature refused to walk away. It went right up the window with its mouth wide open and clawed and even tried chewing on the glass.
At that point, Gary knew something was very wrong with the groundhog. He called animal control and when an officer arrived on scene, the hedgehog directed the harassment towards him.
The officer was forced to kill it and a rabies test will be conducted. Since Gary wasn’t hurt, he’s now having a few laughs about the incident.
He remarked “How much wood would a woodworker chuck if a woodchuck would chuck a woodworker?”
