Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos announced that operations are already on course to release General Ruben Dario Alzate, who was recently captured by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC.) There are rumors of a possible 36-hour cease fire between the government and the rebels in order to ease the prisoner transfer. Upon his release, General Alzate will have many questions to answer and is expected to offer an explanation as to why he violated the security protocols which resulted in his capture, and what he was doing in the guerrilla stronghold to begin with. teleSUR
