The holiday shopping season is upon us, and to make sure parents don’t inadvertently buy their kids dangerous gifts, the World Against Toys Causing Harm, or W.A.T.C.H, has released its ’10 Worst Toys’ list.
Some of the items mentioned are red-flag raisers from the start.
Take the Swat Electric Machine Gun, for example, which comes with a warning that the toy weapon could be mistaken for a real one.
The pencil with a slingshot on the end also presents as just a generally bad idea.
Handing a child an Air Storm Firetek Bow, which can launch projectiles up to 145 feet or a bottle rocket kit that comes with caution tape but no safety glasses are eyebrow-raising prospects as well.
Others aren’t so obviously questionable.
The Alphabet Zoo Rock & Stack Pull Toy looks benign, but W.A.T.C.H found that its chord is 8 inches longer than is standard, increasing risks of strangulation.
A cute furry hedgehog being sold by Toys R Us also made their list due to the fact that its hair isn’t firmly attached and could cause a choking incident.
All of the risky toys and their descriptions are featured on the group’s website.
