A designer has created a normal looking Barbie, and that means the doll has curves, realistic proportions, and even comes with optional stretch marks.
The doll is named ‘Lammily’ and is the brainchild of Nickolay Lamm.
He made her based on the CDC’s statistics concerning what an average 19-year old actually looks like.
Upon deciding that the concept was something worthy of production, he began a crowdsourcing campaign with the goal of bringing in 95 thousand dollars.
About 500 thousand was raised and thanks to the bump in funds, Lamm was able to make those promised to his backers and some extra stock to sell outright.
He also decided to make an optional accessory pack of sorts available.
It includes stickers of pimples, stretch marks, cellulite, moles, scrapes, and scars that can be affixed to Lammily’s skin, furthering her real girl appeal.
Said Lamm, “I feel not only kids, but we as adults try to escape reality watching movies, playing video games and being on our phones all the time. But I wanted to show that life is beautiful and reality is all we have.”
The dolls sell for 24.99 a piece and the stickers will be available in January for just under 6 dollars.
