Protesters attack governing party offices in Oaxaca as anger boils over missing students

A group of protesters attacked ruling party offices in Oaxaca City on Monday (November 17) as anger boils across Mexico over the abduction and apparent massacre of 43 trainee teachers.

Throwing petrol bombs and rocks, protesters tried to break down the doors of the headquarters for the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in the state of Oaxaca. Last week, protesters had torched PRI headquarters in the restive state of Guerrero.

The anger erupted as a protest caravan led by parents of the missing and students from Ayotzinapa travels through Oaxaca to garner support for their cause.

Since officials reported that corrupt police, gunmen and a local drug gang cooperated in the abduction and apparent murder of 43 trainee teachers in the city of Iguala in late September, protests have swept the country as cries get louder for the missing to be found.
