In today's program, host Andy Sebastia interviews Ecuadoran writer and scholar (and also former professional athlete in basketball) Gabriela Aleman. A prolific author, Aleman has lived in more than half a dozen countries and her experiences growing up and as a professional athlete and scholar have shaped her writing. She received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2006 and was part of the Bogotá 39 Competition in 2007.Her most recent book is La muerte silba un blues, published by Penguin Random House in 2014.
