Hudson performs for Veterans, Swank hits the red carpet

Jennifer Hudson sang a moving rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday (November 11) for a Veterans Day celebration. Hundreds of thousands of people flocked to the concert, which also included performances by Bruce Springsteen and Rihanna.

It was a premiere packed night in Los Angeles on Tuesday (November 12). First off, Hilary Swank and Tommy Lee Jones hit the red carpet for their latest movie, "The Homesman." Swank stars a single woman surviving in a small Nebraska town in the 1850s. It opens on November 14.

Also debuting, the civil-rights era drama, "Selma." Actor David Oyelowo joined his fellow co-stars for the premiere. He plays Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the movie, which details King's 1965 march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama. It's scheduled to hit theaters on December 25.
