In IKEA stores, individuals can do some browsing or take a rest on one of the many pieces of furniture. Recently, a young boy was found wandering in the aisles of an IKEA store in Shanghai, China.
People have been known to take long naps on IKEA's comfy beds. So it's not entirely surprising that a missing boy was found wandering in the aisles of an IKEA store in Shanghai, China.
The 12-year-old had gone missing 6 days prior to the discovery on Sunday. He had run away after getting into an argument with his mother.
The dispute is thought to be about school, as the boy was sent home for not doing his math homework. He left home with a small amount of money, but he still managed to survive on his own for nearly a week, living off free food samples from the supermarket.
The police were alerted and surveillance footage captured the 7th grade student a number of times in the days following his disappearance. Cameras inside the IKEA captured him and cops were dispatched to the store.
Stores exits were blocked and after 40 minutes, the child was located near an escalator. Reportedly, the boy had been weak so he was taken to a hospital where he was administered an intravenous drip.
